The Gikendoswen

The Gikendoswen summits were a series of gatherings that were held throughout the Robinson Huron Treaty Territories.  The purpose of the gatherings was to address the concerns of community members and seek input on the development of environmental impact assessment protocols that might be standardized and implemented throughout the Treaty territory.  Virtually all nations under the Robinson Huron Treaty had membership in attendance and many nations presented their own approach to developing and implementing guidelines for managing relationships with the resource extraction and development industry as well as addressing mitigation of impacts on the natural environment incurred through such development.  The sessions were captured with video and are presented on the archive page accessed by clicking the button below:
